As we all know, everyone needs friends. Without friends, the world will be a wilderness; without friends, men will feel lonely.

From ancient times till now, girls are always considered to be gentle and careful. They can be easily or first thought of when some one meets with troubles, because a girl can ease their sad-ness or share sorrow in her special gentle way. So we can't have no girlfriend, and neither can everyone.

Nowadays, with the development of modern society, we can see that some jobs that used to employ only girls, such as teach-ers of kindergartens, nurses and babysitters, are now employing boys as well. In the past time, that was a great surprise. It was hard to understand how a boy can be a nurse or babysitter. But it is now a reality, telling us that girls' character is good but not good enough. Some certain good character from boys is needed in our society. Let's see why.

Some boys say that girls are shy, and can't find what girls are thinking even after a long time talk. On the contrary, boys are always open-minded. They don't hide what they think about; they talk what they are thinking, they do what they want to; they laugh. It is better to be open-minded in making friends, getting along with others. And it's a better way to show that we are full of energy. Secondly, once there was a report that the kindergartens had been calling for male teachers since the importance of building up children strong, not only their body but also their will, was pointed out. Traditionally, children need girls' gentle care to prevent them from hurting themselves. So children were just asked to be seated in a room playing toys. That's not helpful to make the children strong. Through this report, we get to know that children need a certain character that we girls don't have. That is the character of strength and bravery. We girls also need them. Facing the bad working condition, we need strong body; facing the difficulties, we need strong will and bravery.

In a word, boys' character can supplement our girls'. So we need boyfriends.

Facing the competitive society, we girls should keep our traditional character, careful and gentle. And at the same time to build up a new character. That is to be open-minded and strong. So we need girlfriends as well as boyfriends.
